Direct Air Capture (DAC) facilities remove legacy emissions to help meet global climate targets. While energy-intensive with 24-7 loads, many are strategically located near renewable energy sources, enabling low carbon energy feedstock replacement.

DAC’s continuous operation requires significant heat and power, often met by costly fossil fuels or complex CCS systems.
Per the EIA, Twenty-seven DAC plants have been commissioned to date worldwide, capturing almost 0.01 Mt CO2/year. Plans for at least large-scale (> 1000 tonnes CO2 pear year) 130 DAC facilities are now at various stages of development.
